OUR PROCESS

Our process includes a deep understanding of communication, culture, and aesthetics; all of which is informed by research.

STEP 1: CLIENT BRIEFING

We start by gathering information from the client with a comprehensive questionnaire and in-depth interview to learn all about the project. Here, we gain insight into your business, project purpose/goals, timelines, budgets, target audience, competitors, etc. In this step we make sure we are all on the same page regarding the project at hand.

Once we gather all of the relevant information needed to start your project, we create a proposal for the scope of work and submit it to you along with the contract.

Upon receipt of the signed contract and 1st payment (i.e., 50% to start, 50% upon completion), we move onto step two.

STEP 2: RESEARCH

Before we go off creating, willy-nilly, we look deeper to plan out our elements with purpose. All forms of communication have the ability to be powerful. Color, typeface, imagery can impact a target audience psychologically and possibly behaviorally. We take all of this into account as we start to create a vision for your project’s end goal.

Research involves gathering as much information as possible to help inform the most ideal design – your company, industry, competitors, target audience, etc.  We use our research and deep understanding of social-behavioral science to determine how to create design work that will stay relevant and occupy a unique niche in the market.

STEP 3: BRAINSTORMING, THUMBNAILING & CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT

Once we have the client briefing and research under our belts, we have all of the tools we need to determine what and how to best design for our client’s end goal. Brainstorming involves putting pen to paper and spontaneously coming up with ideas of how to creatively provide design solutions for our client.

Thumbnailing is where design, starts to look like design. Once the brainstorm ideas have been short-listed, thumbnailing is used to determine what these ideas could look like. Once we know how we want things to look, we hit the ground running.

We take all of our work (i.e., the client brief, our research & brainstorming) and generate three sample concepts/mockups to present to our client for evaluation.

STEP 4: INITIAL PRESENTATION

We meet for the second time (in-person or online, depending on your needs) and present our ideas for evaluation. For each of the three options, our clients are guided through our design rationale and reasons why they would be successful– noting our client’s goals, target audience, and design objectives.

Clients choose their favorite design and provide detailed feedback on any changes they would like us to make in order for it to be the best that it can be. The goal is to be very thorough in this stage, don’t hold back. Tell us everything you like and don’t like. We want our clients to love the work we do, which requires open communication. We will ask detailed questions to ensure we have everything we need to revise the design to your exact specifications. The goal is to avoid having to repeatedly revise the work, because this can lead to a project going over budget (and nobody wants that).

STEP 5: REFINE, REFINE &  REFINE

We take the design that appealed to our client the most and make all necessary revisions based on the feedback we received. No aspect of the design revision is too big or small. We’re now creating the final, full-fledged design. We focus on nitty-gritty adjustments and all details that will lead to design excellence and client happiness.

STEP 6: FINAL PRESENTATION & CLIENT APPROVAL

Once our client is happy, we’re happy. Yay! The project is complete. It’s time to collect our hard-earned final payment (i.e., the remaining 50% of the project cost), and prepare the files to be sent to our client. Please note: Revisions after client’s final approval, come with an extra fee.

File sizes and formats are finalized. We optimize files for our client’s needs (e.g., web and/or print use) and include the original files.

STEP 7: FINAL DELIVERY

Once everything is approved, and we’ve received our final payment, we send all of the files to our client in various formats, each suited for the project’s specific needs/platforms. If our clients need help with the production, we’re always happy to lend a hand.
